David Hogg Calls Out What 99% Of Politicians Do
The former DNC vice chair was in Chicago this past weekend campaigning for IL 13th District State Representative candidate, Demi Palecek
Ever since his acrimonious exit from the Democratic National Committee, David Hogg and his Leaders We Deserve Super PAC have been endorsing candidates they believe will help propel the Democratic Party forward. Most of these candidates are running against more centrist or establishment Democrats during these pivotal 2026 midterms.
This past Sunday morning, at a campaign breakfast on the north side of Chicago, Hogg gave an impassioned speech in support of IL 13th District State Representative candidate Demi Palecek, her team, and local progressive leaders.
“I think 99% of politicians and politics is determined by people that just lick their finger and stick it in the in the fucking air,” Hogg asserted, “And are like, ‘Well, which way is the wind blowing? Which way is the wind blowing? I’m going to go that way.’
“That’s why we’re seeing all this stuff with these moderate ass candidates that are raising tons of money from groups like APAC and others now claiming that they’re progressives, running for the Senate, running for Congress.
“And in that environment, real power doesn’t come from the people that stick their finger in the air and wait for the wind to change direction. It comes from the people who make the wind fucking blow. That’s people like Demi.”
Palecek will be Guerrilla Press’ guest this Sunday night at The Annoyance Theatre. Her appearance is part of a series of interviews Guerrilla Press is doing with Run For Something-endorsed candidates. Tickets to the recording are available at www.TheAnnoyance.com.
