Exclusive: ICE Agent Pulls Gun On Rapid Responder
Guerrilla Press obtained video earlier today confirming the incident
Guerrilla Press can confirm that at around 1:30 p.m. today, between Chicago’s Logan Square and Belmont Cragin neighborhoods, near Karlov and Fullerton, while observing a known ICE vehicle, an agent exited his vehicle and aggressively engaged with a local rapid-response team member.
In video that has been reviewed by Guerrilla Press, the agent pulled a gun on the patroller, quickly returned to his vehicle, and left. The video does not show the rapid responder approaching the agent or acting aggressively.
Out of an abundance of safety for the individual and other rapid responders involved, we will not be releasing the video.
The patroller and the rest of the rapid response team are safe and accounted for.
The license plate number for the ICE vehicle, which was a grey Nissan Armada, read GC12060.
As a reminder, especially if you are in these areas, please carry a whistle at all times and wear a face covering. Also, when witnessing ICE activity, use the SALUTE method to report accurate, actionable information that helps protect communities and guide rapid response efforts. You can find more information about the SALUTE method at www.traverseindivisible.com
Use this method when reporting to local organizations’ rapid response networks, and always observe in pairs when possible.
Do not post unverified reports on social media—this can spread panic. If you document the event, record video horizontally, capture officer details (faces, badges, license plates), and only intervene if safe.
And remember, always remain calm, know your rights, and avoid signing anything or discussing your immigration status. If you need assistance due to ICE detention or to report any suspected ICE sightings, call ICIRR at 855 435 7693.
Stay with Guerrilla Press for more updates about on-the-ground ICE activities in the Chicagoland area.
