Guerrilla Press Launches 'Civitech Studio' In Chicago's Uptown
The state-of-the-art 2,400+ sq. ft. facility will produce daily content with some of Chicago's top, young progressive comedians and figures
Guerrilla Press is proud to announce a one-year partnership with Civitech and the launch of the brand new 2,400+ sq. ft. Civitech Studio production facility in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. The studio is equipped with four Blackmagic 4K cameras, along with a host of other equipment that will enable the brand to produce regular, high-end content.
“This is a dream come true for me, and everyone involved with Guerrilla Press,” said Guerrilla Press Co-Founder Nick Hausman. “With this incredible new space, and the support of Civitech, we will be producing daily live podcasts, sketches, and other content that addresses the issues affecting young progressives and all Americans daily, without taking ourselves too seriously.”
Since its launch in January 2026, Guerrilla Press, a Chicago-based independent media company that caters to young progressives, has amassed more than 1 million social media impressions. The brand has featured interviews with prominent progressive figures, including Kat Abughazaleh, Demi Palecek, and Reed Showalter. Guerrilla Press was also center stage at No Kings 3, where it captured the official rally footage for the Indivisible Chicago Alliance.
“At Civitech, we believe democracy works best when more people feel connected to the process and empowered to participate in it,” said Jeremy Smith, Civitech’s CEO. “That’s why we’re partnering with Guerrilla Press on Civitech Studio, a creative space designed to reach younger voters through humor, storytelling, and honest conversations about the issues shaping their lives. This is how civic engagement grows, by showing up in the spaces where people already are.”
Hausman and fellow Co-Founder, one of Second City Chicago’s longest-running performers, EJ Cameron, will remain as regular on-air talents. The move also includes an expansion of the Guerrilla Press line-up, as emerging Chicago comedy stars Tanner Sells and Tanner S. Sykes, who have previously featured in Guerrilla Press content, have officially been named regular correspondents.
Alice Gibson will continue as Senior Producer, and Brandon Ebert, a community activist, will join as a Producer. When not working behind the camera, both will regularly make their presence known from the booth!
