Hello, Guerrilla Pressians!
It has been an eventful week or so behind the scenes at Guerrilla Press, and we are about to release a deluge of content over the coming months leading into the midterms. Expect some big announcements soon, but in the interim, let's wrap this week up on a kickass punk rock note!
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Robbie from Rude Echoes earlier this week. He plays saxophone for the band, among other instruments, and generally struck me as the kind of dude I want to hang out and listen to The Impossibles with. For that reason alone, I think you all will really enjoy the conversation.
As I am sure you will notice, it’s hard not to be struck by Robbie’s candor when it comes to criticisms of Trump’s administration, and a fragmented Democratic Party trying to cobble together a resistance. Punk rock, as we discuss, has always been an outspoken, loud critic of establishment politics at large, and I find it so refreshing to hear that tradition being carried on by Robbie and Rude Echoes.
We also got to discuss the work they have done with local political figures like friend-of-the-show, Kat Abughazaleh, to push back against things like ICE overreach and the Trump administration’s war on the LGBTQ community. I love it, and I think you will, too.
