The Annoyance Announces First-Ever Live, Weekly Podcast 'Guerrilla Press'
Congressional Candidate Kat Abughazaleh announced for debut on Sunday, January 18 @ 7 pm
January 1, 2026 - The Annoyance Theater is proud to kick off 2026 with the announcement of their first-ever, live weekly podcast, Guerrilla Press. The show will be hosted by one of Second City Chicago’s longest-serving stage performers, EJ Cameron, and notable comedian and journalist Nick Hausman.
“Chicago has a long history of uplifting and empowering voices at times of cultural turmoil,” Hausman said. “Beyond being a live, weekly podcast, we hope this show serves as a fun space for the community to come together, share ideas, and find ways to stay civically and politically active. The Annoyance is the perfect partner and backdrop for what we hope is a raucous experience.”
With that goal in mind, Guerrilla Press welcomes congressional candidate Kat Abughazeleh as its first guest on January 18 at 7 pm. Before launching her campaign, Abughazaleh built a national profile as a journalist and media watchdog, challenging powerful right-wing figures and speaking out on issues she is deeply passionate about.
“So many Chicago comedians have gone on to work for The Daily Show or appear on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update,” said Cameron. “We’re excited bring a taste of that, live to Chicagoans every week, and kick it off during a pivotal 2026. This is going to be a party, and everyone is invited.”
Guerrilla Press will welcome Chicago legend, WTTW’s Geoffrey Baer, for their sophomore show on January 25 and 44th Ward Alderman Bennett Lawson on February 1. More guests and collaborations will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Comedy has always played an important part in political discourse,” said Annoyance President Jennifer Estlin. “We feel like it’s absolutely the right time to host this podcast; Nick and EJ are passionate about the idea, and we’re so eager to host a platform for conversations with all the guests they’re inviting.”
Tickets for Guerrilla Press are now available at TheAnnoyance.com. The full audio and video from each live podcast recording will be uploaded to the Guerrilla Press podcast feed and YouTube channel every Monday, with additional content published on those channels throughout the week.
